Purederm Kiwi Yogurt Pack Review

Hello makeup/skin care lovers, I'm here today to review Purederm Skin Solutions Kiwi Yogurt Pack. This wash-off type massage mask is available in 10ml sachets. It contains kiwi extracts to help brighten the skin and increase it's elasticity. It also contains yogurt oil to de-stress the skin to keep it soft and smooth. Lastly, this massage cream contains collagen and vitamin E.

It is best to use this massage mask after double cleansing. Applying it is very straight forward, just open the pack and apply the cream on your face, avoiding the eye and mouth area. It is recommended to keep the cream on for 5 - 10 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water.

Scary huh?
This massage mask smells delicious (if you like kiwi and yogurt - which I do) I wanted to taste it, it also has tiny bits in it when applied. It's easy enough to apply with your fingers but it could get messy. I would suggest, if you have it, use a bowl and brush to apply your cream evenly onto your face. I've read some reviews that said 10ml is not enough but in my honest opinion, 10ml is more than enough. I was able to apply a generous amount on my face and my neck. The pack said leave on for 5-10 minutes, I left my one on for 10 minutes and the cream did not dry out so removal was easy. I used my Liz Earle muslin hot cloth to remove it and the effect was amazing. My face felt so smooth and hydrated.

So, here's what I think of the Purederm Skin Solutions Kiwi Yogurt Pack. It might not be as good a Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser but for 600 won in Tester Korea, it's definitely worth a try. If you don't already have a muslin cloth, I suggest investing on some good quality cloths and this Purederm mask for a more affordable alternative to the Liz Earle cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser combo.

L'Oreal Glam Bronze Eau De Soleil Reivew

I love freebies! Not long ago, I received an email offering me a sample of of L'Oreal's Glam Bronze Eau De Soleil. I filled in my details and after 2 months of waiting, I finally received my freebie sample. I received a 20ml bottle of weightless, natural and healthy tan.

This is perfect for summer contouring and highlighting as it's so lightweight and it can be used on top of your foundation or just on its own.

Don't be scared that it might look too dark, it actually is not. If I could refer you to the swatches above, it looks dark but after blending, you will get a 'soft glow' and not the oompa loompa orange glow other bronzers tend to give you. If you're planning a night out, I would suggest you double up and try to use a beauty blender for a more finished look. It also has a little shimmer to it (not visible on the swatches) due to the gold micro-fine particles in the formula. It also smells quite nice - like fresh summer cotton.

Summer is near and L'Oreal Glam Bronze Eau De Soleil the perfect bronzer for that natural looking tanned skin. Try it and see for yourself.

My First Horror Block

Here's another subscription box for you - if you like anything horror that is. I found this box when I was contemplating my break up with other sub services. This is the HORROR BLOCK, the gruesome brother of NERD BLOCK.

This is another monthly subscription service from Canada. It's $19.99 per month plus $12.50 shipping, so roughly around £19-£20 depending on the exchange rate.

Both Nerd and Horror Blocks include a selection of tshirt (or 2), toys, magazine, Pop Characters and other novelty items. This box includes:

The BF wanted the monthly T-shirts and I get to play with the other stuff in the box. This box is mostly about Hannibal. I got a Hannibal heart stress toy, a Hannibal T-shirt and some Hannibal stickers. Inside the box was a copy of Fangoria Magazine, a Cthulhu Car Suction Sign, a Godzilla Headphone accessory, a DVD of Tales from the Cryptkeeper and last but not the least, my favourite, a film cell from the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street.

I'm really pleased with this box and I'm looking forward to more boxes to come.

Blotting Paper - Which is better?

I have really oily skin, even during winter and therefore increases my risks of getting monstrous adult acne. I have two blotting papers to compare today, DHC Oil Blotting Paper and Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets.

DHC Oil Blotting Paper is made from 100% all-natural hemp fibres and helps mattify your skin. It comes beautifully packaged with 100 sheets of oil control goodness. It's a bit thinner than my usual blotting paper but it does what it says on the packaging.

KLEENEX Shine Absorbing Sheets. Each pack comes in a wallet with 50 purple, powder free, recyclable paper. The sheets are a bit thicker
than the DHC ones and they don't break easily as the DHC blotting paper. Then again, I don't dab, I drag the paper across my face furiously to remove my excess oil.

If you are budget conscious and would like to get more for your money, I would recommend the Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets as they're more affordable than the DHC Blotting Paper. However, if you're more interested in what's in your products, then the DHC Blotting Papers are a lot better. Personally, I like the DHC paper but I'm a bit budget conscious so I normally buy the Kleenex Sheets.

Get Organised!

I live in a small flat in London and space is very dear. That's why I have to find a way to organise my collection that's both space saving and cost effective. The answer? Acrylic Organisers.

This Lipstick Organiser holds up to 24 lipsticks/ lip glosses/ lip lacquers. It's not the prettiest of organiser but it does the job and at £2.27 and free UK delivery, you can't go wrong.

This multi-purpose organiser looks a lot sturdier than the lipstick organiser. This can be used as a jewellery box or a stationary box. Personally, it looks better as a makeup/ cosmetic organiser. It's perfect for storing your samples, pencils, mascara, serums, etc. Now I just need an organiser for my makeup pallets and blushes.

How do you store your cosmetics?

Feeding My Pop Addiction

I love beauty products, subscription boxes and Funko Pops. Unfortunately, I wasn't born with a silver spoon and I can only indulge one addiction at a time. For this month, I got myself a couple of Pops.

Do you know who they are? I love Game of Thrones and I'm trying to collect all the GOT Pops. I got Khaleesi herself, Daenerys Targaryen and her cream coloured dragon Viserion.

Aren't they lovely? I have got a lot more collecting and blogging to do. How's your Pop collection?

My Little Frenchie Box

I love My Little Box. It's one of the few subscription boxes I'm keeping and here's why.

This is the February My Little Box in collaboration with Ines de La Fressange - the ultimate Parisian Woman. As always, the box includes 2 well thought accessories, 1 magazine and 1 illustration card. This month's box is has an added bonus, it has 4 beauty products instead of 3. Happy Days!

Looks great doesn't it?
I'll start with the Smart Phone CaseMy Little Box has collaborated with Ines to create this chic mobile phone case. This case does not only look chic, it's functional as well. It has a pocket for you to keep you bank card/tickets. I received the blue case, it's also available in red.

Having a rough day or just need a cute decoration on your desk? This Pot of Messages does the trick. The pot holds 28 special pick me up messages that will brighten up your day.

Now for the beauty products, the first product is By Terry Waterproof Khol Pencil. I haven't tried this yet and judging by its price tag, I expect good things from this pencil. It retails for £23 - yikes!

Next product is another pencil - cheaper one. I got the Super Liner Brow Artist Shaper by L'Oreal Paris. This 3-in-1 eyebrow pencil allows you to draw, discipline and set your brows for that perfect brow shape.

Ever heard of blotting papers? I love them - I have oily skin. Included in the box is 100 sheets of DHC Blotting Paper. It's made of 100% natural hemp fibres to absorb all the oil from your face. It looks so pretty too.

The last product is from My Little Box's own brand My Little Beauty. It's a Complexion Enhancer with apricot kernel oil to help bring life back to your skin. It's lightweight and has delicate tint to it. Much like Benefit's That Gal Brightening Face Primer.

I am very happy with this box, not only did I get that lovely phone case but also received 4 beauty products. Happy Days indeed!

Foodaholic 3D Snail Natural Essence Mask Review

This mask is made of natural pulp and is soaked in water, glycerin, alcohol, butylene glycol, trehalose, panthenol, methylparaben, carbomer, triethanolamine, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, phenoxyethanol, snail secretion filtrate (0.1%), beta-glucan, disodium EDTA, fragrance, corydalis, ochotensis extract, chenopodium album flower extract, lactuca indica extract, draba nemorosa extract. You might be put off the alcohol and paraben content of this mask. I, myself was a bit sceptical at first but I had to try this Snail Essence Mask.

First of all, I love snail products, it keeps my acne at bay. This mask is a lot thicker than your usual fibre mask. It looks like 2 lengthwise masks fused together in the middle. This 3D Foodaholic  mask does not fit well on my face. There's a lot of gaps between my skin and the mask. As for evaporation, this mask dries out in about 10-15 minutes.

These are not my favourite masks but they would do especially when I have a breakout. I got these mask from Beauty Net Korea. Considering all the pro's and con's, I would rate this mask a 6/10.

Quick Guide to Sheet Masks

Sheet masks are everywhere nowadays and South Korea is the Mecca for sheet masks. First things first, what are sheet masks? Sheets masks are basically pre-cut sheets of material to fit the face. The masks usually have holes for the eyes, the nose and the lips. These materials are soaked in liquid formulas/ serums to treat the skin.

There are 3 types of material used for sheet masks that's readily available on the market, Fabric, Hydro gel and Bio Cellulose.

The Fabric is divided into 2 materials, Fibre (Non-Woven) and Pulp. The Fibre  masks are the most affordable of the lot because they are quite rough and paper-like. Because of this, the mask does not have a very good fit. Best way to use this mask and still be able to move around would be to use a sheet mask holder from Daiso. This reusable silicone cover also prevents the serum from evaporating quickly .

The other fabric mask is made of Pulp which has a finer texture than the Fibre. This mask is quite uneven with noticeable gaps between the mask and your skin. Like the fibre mask, the serum evaporates quite quickly as well.

If you want a mask that will not evaporate quickly then you might want to try Hydro-gel masks. Hydro-gel masks are a combination of serum and gelatin and because of that the mask are a bit delicate and are prone to tearing. There is another difference between the fabric masks and the hydro-gel masks, fabric masks come in one mask with pre-cut holes. Hydro-gel masks come in two parts, top and bottom halves. This helps minimise the tearing when applying them.

The last type is the Bio Cellulose mask. Traditionally made from multiple bacteria fermented with coconut water, these masks hold up to 100% of their weight which allows the mask to form a tight fit. This allows better transfer of the serum and the best part is that these masks do not dry out. I know what you're thinking, too good to be true. Well, it does what it says on the packaging but it comes with a hefty price tag.

If you are on a tight budget, I suggest you stick to the fibre/pulp masks and invest on a Daiso Reusable Silicone Mask Holder.
