Memebox Thanksgiving Box 1 - FOR ME

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving day back home nor do we celebrate it here in the UK but there is so much to be thankful for all these years.  In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Memebox has released 2 Thanksgiving boxes. One For Me and one For You.  Let me share with you my thoughts on these two boxes. Let me start with the first box.. For Me. 

For Me - yes me.. It's my favourite out of these 2 boxes. Scroll down and read on to know why.

CLIO Virgin Kiss Tinted Lip in Electric #22 3.5g. 

     This retails for $10 and its glow-in-the-dark.  You read right, it glows in the dark. It's a normal pop orange lip colour during daytime but under blue LED lights, it turns to electric orange.  It slides easily for a semi matte finish lipstick.  I was really hesitant with the colour but this orange is growing on me. My lips feels like velvet  with this lipstick.  If you want to stand out during a night out, this lipstick will definitely give you that edge.

JAMINKYUNG Gokmul Care Ultra Ampoule Toner 110ml

     This wonder toner retails at $46 at Memebox.  The main ingredient of this toner ampoule is camellia oil, sweet almond oil and vitamin E among others to provide antioxidant effects to give you a healthy, beautiful skin. It smells a little bit like grainy almond. How to use: Shake the Gokmul bottle, put about 5 - 8 drops of milky liquid in a cotton pad or like me, use your hands and pat away.  I love the way this toner makes your skin feel silky smooth. 803 803 Cream 50g

     This cream retails at $34 and I got the Palzza Cream Wrinkle Cream in my box.  The stylish pop-art packaging is very attractive and makes you want to pick it up and buy it. There are 3 types of 803, the Palzza (Wrinkle/Smile Lines), Sam n Cream (Neck) and Young (Moisturising). Ok, I'm not the best person to tell you what it smells like but to me, it smells like sweet citrus fruits like the Tonymoly Hello Bunny perfume bar only lighter.  That's probably the only light thing about this cream.  This wrinkle cream is thicker than most creams in the market and it takes longer to be absorbed by the skin. I'm 32 and I'm lucky to not have wrinkles so I don't really have much use for this myself but luckily, I know some people that need it and hopefully it will work for them.

This cream is made of really good stuff like Collagen, Caviar, Royal Jelly, Adenosine, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil and does NOT contain Paraben, Mineral Oil, Artificial Colouring, Talc or Benzophenone.

SALLY'S BOX 4 Set Love Recipe Apple Mask, Delight Panthenol Hydrogel Mask, Delight Ceramide Hydrogel Mask, Delilght Collagen Hydrogel mask 

     This set retails for $13. What are sheet masks? Sheet Masks are pre-cut sheets, typically cotton or fibre, soaked in liquid formulas that are made to treat the skin. Sheet Masks are cut to fit the face with holes to protect the eyes, lips and nostrils. Sheet Masks traps the formula on the top of the skin, forcing it to absorb the formula and sealing it in.  The Love Recipe Apple Mask contains apple extracts to soothe and balance out rough skin.  The Delight Hydrogel Masks are made of 'Garden Complex' containing a cocktail of 10 herbal ingredients to hydrate, firm, and relieve rough dehydrated skin. How to use: Place mask over clean face and rest for 15-20 minutes. What I do: First, I exfoliate then do my normal routine - toner, essence, ampoule, serum, cream THEN the sheet mask. I use a sheet mask 3x a week, sleeping pack 3x a week.

TONYMOLY Hello Bunny Perfume Bar 9g

     This item retails for $11, is available in 5 scents and I got the 02 Momo Fruity. 01 Bebe Powder, 02 Momo Fruity, 03 Dodo Rose, 04 Coco Floral, 05 Pom Pom Green. This perfume is a solid stick of sweet smelling goodness in a really cute container. It glides easily onto the skin and has a moisturising effect. This perfume has citrus top note, floral, fruity and spice middle note and sandalwood, musk base note. Best used behind the ear and wrists. It's very handy, can fit in the smallest of purses, lightweight and does not leak.

ARIUL Stress Relieving Purefull Cleansing Foam 75ml

     This item retails for $8. I have to be honest, I didn't think much of this cleansing foam until after I used it.  I was quite surprised to find that it cleans very well.  I used a very small amount and the amount of foam was surprising. The best part of it is that it didn't dry out my skin like most foam cleansers in the market and it smells nice - like lime.

PISTEO Bright & Pure C Serum 7ml

     This item retails for $100 (7ml x 4ea) so it's like $25 for 7ml - I know, OUCH!  There is a perfectly understandable reason for this, this serum is made up of PURE Vitamin C concentrates to help the skin replenish moisture, firm up fine wrinkles and brighten overall complexion with continuous application.  How to use: Use a penny size amount of serum and massage it onto clean face.  I normally put it on after the essence and I pat it onto my face instead of rubbing it in. 

In conclusion, the Thanksgiving box 1 For Me is well worth the $26 + $6.99 shipping I paid for it. First, because the whole box itself is worth $147. Second, I have used all but 1 of the products in this box. The one item I do not use is being used by someone else so it's all good.  Lastly, I would buy these products on their own if I have to but I hope I will be able buy a box or 2 of this during next weeks restock.  Would I recommend this box? I don't want to recommend it so I can buy more for myself but this box is one of the, if not the best box I have received from Memebox.

Taste Japan Snack Box

After the Memebox dry spell, Birchbox's disappointing boxes I have decided to look into different types of subscription boxes available to the UK.  After a lot of man hours, I found several subscription services that I would like to share with you.

Akemashita Omedetou Gozaimasu! That's Happy New Year in Japanese. Taste Japan is one of the snack boxes available to the UK.  As the name would suggest, this subscription comes directly from Japan. For £15 a month, you get 9 tasty treats from the Land of the Rising Sun.   They usually send out the boxes around the 25th of the month and takes a week or so to get there - depending on location.  

Enough with the chitchat and lets talk food. 

First item I've tried was the Morokoshiwa Tarou - corn puffs to you and me.. It's similar to Wotsits but a bit thicker and lighter in flavour. 

Next is the Kuri Country Ma'am.  I got 2 in my box which was awesome as I love them.  They're soft chocolate chip cookies with a filling inside - chestnut according to the list but it also tasted a little bit like coffee. Still very tasty.

Then we have the crunchy Edemame Snacks. They smell a bit funny when you first open the bag BUT they taste lovely.  You get hints of onion and chives with this soybean snack. Its very refreshing on its own but its the perfect beer companion. 

 Ever heard of Mogi Mogi Fruits?  Mogi Mogi means 'pick' in Japaneses and you'll definitely mogi mogi your own grape gummies straight from the vine - pack. They look so nice but a bit fiddly to eat.  xmadmicx was kind enough to finish the pack for me.

Who wants a twinkle?  Twinkles are a pack of milk chocolate eggs with cute hard candies inside.  There's 5 milk chocolate eggs in 1 pack.  It also includes a sticker sheets.  It's definitely one for the kids but I can't say no to chocolate. Who says no to chocolate 

anyway? 

Next one is the limited edition Cookie and Strawberry Takenoko no Sato.  This is my favourite 

treat in the box. They look like mini ice cream cookie with strawberry chocolate filling. They're so 

creamy  and delicious I was sad to finish the lot. 

Almost there, next treat is the Milky Chocolate. This milk chocolate is a lot better than the eggs. It's a one big block but tons of 

little cubes of chocolate goodness.  It's like a Choc-ice. Chocolate on the outside milky filling on the inside. This ack also features 

Peko Chan. 

Next is another Milky product, Milky Coffee Pucca.  It's like a coffee flavoured mini pretzel oozing with cuteness. It's perfect for an adult pack lunch - as afters. 

Last treat is the Koala's March Snacks.  These are the cutest snacks in the box.  The look like koaloa's and they taste like strawberry chocolate biscuit. YUMMY!! 

 

After eating my way through all those sweets, I think £15 for a box of snacks that I can't easily get my hands on is worth it.  Even if I did have access to these snacks here, I wouldn't know what they're suppose to be as I can't read Japanese.  If after reading this, I made you crave for new worldly snacks, you can subscribe to Taste Japan - http://tastejapan.net/subscribe/.

Memebox Special #37 Wake Up Makeup

How long does it take for you to get ready in the morning?  Don't you just wish you can simplify your routine and make your life easier.  With the Memebox Wake Up Makeup box you can.

These two colours combined creates more edge than a single colour liner.  This wonderful product comes with a brush that makes it easier to combine and apply. 

Soothing Blemish Balm

The product above is the Royal Nature's Original Soothing Blemish Balm.  This item is like a BB cream minus all the chemicals.  It's made of calendula extracts, chamomile extracts, cypress essential oil and portulaca extracts. If you want a more natural BB cream that will sooth and brighten your skin then, try the Royal Nature's Blemish balm.  I'm sure you will love it. 

If you, like me, don't have time to put on eyeshadow on in the 
morning then the Shara Shara  Creamy Dual Auto Eye Stick is a life saver.  You have eye shadow on one end then eyeliner on the other.  I normally put eyeshadow when I'm on the train to work so this product is quite convenient.  It has the right amount of shimmer to wake my eyes up in the morning.  It comes in 4 different colours: 
No 1 Shine Gold Khaki, No 2 Holly Pink Brown, No 3 Celeb Burgundy, No 4 Glam Brownie.

07 Lavender & Pink Beige

The next item is the 8ml Cheek Room Two Colour Lip Gloss this product is like a lip stain and lip gloss put together.  I was quite impressed with this gloss as it lasts a long time without any touch ups. It's also not as sticky as I was expecting it to be.  The last item on the card is the Shara Shara Glitter Pearl Powder. Comes in a little pot with it's own applicator.  It's perfect for highlighting in a hurry.  Just make sure you use it sparingly as it's quite shimmery.  It's light and compact  to use on the go for a quick shimmer.

Memebox was kind enough to add a gift with this box.  They have 

included Cellbydate The Real Galacto Zero Essence. I had to research this product before using it and this is what I've found.  This product uses galactomyces ferment filtrate which is good for sensitive and acne prone skin, like mine.   It's very gentle on the skin it helps reduce redness.  It also moisturises the skin and has no alcohol, fragrance or preservatives .  

Truth be told, this is not the best box BUT it's been  made perfect by the Cellbydate Essence.  I honestly don't know what to do when it finishes.

Über Late My Little Cosy Box

My Little Box is a subscription box like no other that is why, I was patient and I waited for my November box but it didn't come.  I was worried so I emailed My Little Box and remained in constant correspondence with their customer service and they have assured me that my box is on the way.  I was happy and reassured that I will get my box in December.  I did receive my box on the first week of December.  My Little Cosy Box has arrived and I LOVE IT!!!

The days are shorter and you can feel the biting cold.  Winter is coming.  It's time to wrap up, stay at home and be cosy.  My Little Cosy Box has the perfect accessories to go along with the dreadful weather.  

This month I got a red polka dot microwaveable hot pack, perfect for those long, cold winter nights.  Then My Little Box included the cutest espresso cup with illustrations by Kanako.  Personally, I prefer latte or hot chocolate so I won't be using this cup - it's too cute to use anyway.

Now for the beauty products.  I got a 5ml Essie nail varnish in 73 Cute as a Button.  I love Essie but this colour is more summer than winter but that won't stop me from wearing it.  Then I got a waterproof  ultra long lasting eyeliner from Star Liner in 001 Noir.  Let me tell you this, it does not budge.  What joy to find an eyeliner that does what it says on the label.  Last but not the least is My Little Beauty's Mascara Soin Et Volume.  I have to be honest with you, I haven't tried it as I have 2 other mascara's to finish first but I promise I'll do a review of My Little Beauty's own range of beauty products in the future.
